Eco Electric Scooters

Why electric?

Traffic pollution, congestion, climate change and environmental awareness are now everyday topics.

Aside from the obvious environmental benefits, electric scooters also offer fantastic savings in comparison to any other form of transport.

  • Cheap to run – approx. 0.0055c per 1 Km or 50c per 90 Km or $1 per 180 Km
  • Zero emissions
  • No noise pollution
  • Fast acceleration
  • Very low maintenance
  • Charge at home or work
  • Low insurance

Simply put, electric scooters offer the perfect solution to short journey transportation. Traffic pollution, congested roads and cramp public transport are everyday concerns. With the rapid increase in battery and electric motor technology, the electric vehicle is making its entrance.

The e-max difference!

The first ride with the e-max is unusual. No motor humming, no vibrations - and yet, the e-max has accelerated to maximum speed. The e-max models represent a completely new driving experience that can be best described as a quiet gliding. Carve through the traffic in virtual silence, content in the knowledge that it’s cheap, efficient, green and most of all gets you from A to B quicker and feeling fresher than any other alternative.

The VMOTO e-max electric scooter is purpose built using German technology and Italian design, ensuring the highest quality coupled with style and performance.

As all e-max scooters have been exclusively developed from the outset as electric vehicles rather than simply modifying conventional petrol powered models – product safety, consistency and reliability are assured.

VMOTO e-max electric scooters offer style, performance, affordability and no noise pollution, all with zero emissions.

The e-max formula = No fuel - No oil - No exhaust fumes - No Noise... Logical!

How it works

There has never been a simpler scooter.

The VMOTO e-max electric scooter is extremely easy to use and this is also true for the "refuelling".

The scooters are powered by a compact 4000 Watt electric hub motor built into the rear wheel. The 'fuel' is provided by sealed silicone batteries which, like the motor, are completely maintenance free.

PLUG & DRIVE! The e-max comes with a separate, fully automatic charger that has been specifically designed for ideal charging of the batteries.

You need only connect the charger to the e-max and plug it into the socket. Charging time will vary depending on the status of the battery 4 to 6 hours. The silicon batteries are powerful, extremely durable and have no "memory effect". Of course, you can e-max between the load at any time.

How far can you go

This virtually silent vehicle, once fully charged, can provide up to 90 kilometres of travel at a cost of around 50 cents.

The distance travelled is effected by multiple factors including; driver weight, road incline, temperature, the number of start/ stops and use of the power booster. For example:

  • 70-90km (45 km / h, driver weight approximately 75kg, level driving range, average temp 22 degrees, max. 10 start / stops, no booster)
  • 170km at 25 km / h

Comparing Electric to Petrol

Comparing the e-max with petrol scooters is not practical.

The much higher torque and acceleration, the nearly non-existent maintenance costs and the environmental-friendly zero emission puts the e-max out of this class.

The only reasonable comparison can be made towards other electric scooters, however the e-max is outstanding because of: the higher range, the incredible performance, the lower recharging time, the offering of silicon and lithium technology, the great manoeuvrability, the comfort for two people and last but not least the high quality at a bargain price.

Vehicle category

VMOTO e-max electric scooters have a top speed restricted to 75km, so as to be categorised as a 'scooter'. The speed can be further limited to allow for Australian Learner Approved application and then adjusted back once you get your open license.

Technology

The motor:

The motor was exclusively developed by e-max for the application in electric scooters. The location of the 13-inch wheel motor in the rear wheel enables smooth power transmission. The innovative wheel-hub motor of e-max can pass its output directly and without friction losses (no chain or belt). As there is no no need for a gearbox, this reduces maintenance and saves money. It also has power in REVERSE - Amazing!

The speedometer:

Everything in view. The analog / digital cockpit has it all. In addition to speed and distance, it also informs about the charging status of the batteries and the possible range.

The electronic control:

VMOTO e-max scooters have a digital controller, which controls the motor and was especially designed for the needs of an electric scooter. The e-max developed software can be customised to the customers' needs. The lithium ion version has an innovative battery management system (BMS) with automotive approval. The BMS has an integrated black box which monitors and records the condition of the battery, motor and track.

The booster:

e-max customers know they can trust the booster power button, whenever they need more power. The booster provides up to 80% more power for a period, so inclines of over 20% are no problem.

The battery:

e-max offers customers a choice: the long lasting and cost-effective silicon batteries with 40 Ah and 60 Ah based on a 48 V system or the extremely light weight lithium batteries which allow a range of up to 150 km and a charging time of less than 2 hours. Lithium can be recharged to a minimum of 1000 full cycles; this means more than 100,000 km can be driven. Both battery systems have no memory effect, so you can charge them whenever you want without problems.

The frame:

The cage frame was exclusively designed for e-max electric scooters for the requirement of deep placement of the batteries. The tubular-steel frame construction provides maximum strength with minimum weight. The e-max patent frame is the first frame for a 13-inch wheel, used in electric vehicles, with single rear suspension for easy access to motor and tire.

The brakes:

The e-max is equipped with hydraulic floating disc brakes in the front and as well in the rear.

FAQs?

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS.
THE RIGHT ANSWERS.

HEAVY RAIN IS AT OR DAMAGE TO THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK?

No. All electronics are safely installed in the vehicle. The batteries are deeply integrated in the frame and are perfectly protected from damage. The batteries are sealed so that no leak acids or vapours.

WHAT IS THE SCOPE OF THE E-MAX AFFECTED?

Several factors have influence on the range of battery-operated vehicles: rider weight, payload, road conditions, driving style and temperature play a decisive role (from an outside temperature drops below 10 degrees Celsius and the performance of the batteries).

WHAT IS DRIVING AND WHAT DO I NEED APPROVAL?

An e-max is like a 50 cc scooter and can be ridden in all countries with an car license.
